Launched on the 13 June 2000, UnitingCare Health now operates one of the largest not-for-profit private hospital groups in Australia. Our group of hospitals contain over 999 licensed hospital beds spread amongst our five facilities:

  • The Wesley Hospital
  • St Andrew's War Memorial Hospital
  • The Sunshine Coast Private Hospital
  • St Stephen's Hospital, Maryborough
  • St Stephen's Hospital, Hervey Bay

Today the group employs approximately 3,385 staff, being a mix of full-time, part-time and casual. UnitingCare Health will admit around 104,000 Queenslanders in this 12 months and undertake around 71,000 surgical procedures. In the last financial year, the group had a total annual revenue in excess of $445 million which will be used to improve our services and facilities.

UnitingCare Health is part of UnitingCare Queensland which provides quality and compassionate care to more than 14 000 people every day of the year and also includes UnitingCare Community (including Lifeline services and Crossroads), Blue Care and UnitingCare Social Justice.

Improving our Energy Efficiency

Energy efficiency should be a priority for us all and UnitingCare Health has identified a number of initiatives which will ensure our hospitals improve their performance in this area.
