The Wesley Hospital Kim Walters Choices Program

The Wesley Hospital Kim Walters Choices Program (Choices) is a free community service regardless of where treatment has been undertaken offering support for women and men diagnosed with breast cancer and women diagnosed with gynaecological cancers and their families. Choices is unique in its multi- disciplinary holistic care of people experiencing a diagnosis of cancer.

You are welcome to drop in at any time to find:

• specialist Breast Care and Women’s Health nurses
• Peer Support Coordinator and other women who can share their breast or gynaecological cancer experience with you
• counsellor offering individual and family counselling
• Physiotherapy services

Choices can help you through the difficult decision making and emotional turmoil surrounding these diagnoses.

Choices can:

• answer your questions
• provide practical assistance
• help you make decisions
• provide you with emotional support
• connect you with others with a similar diagnosis

Kevin Walters, our PatronImage

Kevin Walters, once captain of the Brisbane Broncos football team and husband of the late Kim Walters, is the patron of Choices. Choices is dedicated to the memory of Kim who believed that support and understanding result from women sharing their experiences and as patron, Kevin continues to honour her memory and vision.
