St Stephen's Hospital, Maryborough  St Stephens Hospital, Maryborough | St Stephen's Hospital is the only private hospital servicing the Fraser Coast region. St Stephen's Hospital, Hervey Bay St Stephens Hospital, Hervey Bay | After 60 years of providing hospital and medical services to the Fraser Coast Community through its Maryborough facility, St Stephens in March 2006 launched a state-of-the-art Day Hospital for Hervey Bay. The 5 million dollar facility is Stage 1 of a long term commitment by UnitingCare Health to develop quality, not-for-profit, health services in the region. The Day Hospital is the first component of a master planned green-field medical precinct on the corner of Nissen Street and Urraween Road, opposite the Hervey Bay Hospital. Master planning of the 1.5 hectare site has been undertaken to enable sufficient space and facilities for expansion to a 60 bed in-patient hospital. Construction of an adjacent medical centre, with associated healthcare facilities such as radiology , pathology, pharmacy and doctor’s consulting suites is planned in the near future. St Stephen’s Hervey Bay will be an extension of St Stephen’s Maryborough with the same management and staff providing the services and care. The new facility will provide many short and long term benefits to the Fraser Coast communities of both Maryborough and Hervey Bay.
