Image The Wesley Hospital invites you to have your baby at our maternity unit. We pride ourselves on doing that little bit extra to make the birth of your child as wonderful as possible. We have modern facilities and the latest in medical technology giving you a range of safe, individual birthing choices.

The unit has 31 beds, and has recently refurbished 25 of its single rooms. We have five birth suites. The labour ward is always staffed with at least two experienced midwives. We encourage your partner to attend the birth. An extra support person is also welcome. The unit includes a 12 bed special care nursery.

Call us on 3232 7432 to find out more information on having your baby at The Wesley Hospital.

During your stay a midwife will be assigned to assist you with your physical, emotional, educational and spiritual needs. Becoming a parent can be a challenging time and we want to assist you in any way we can.

Staff who work in our Maternity Unit are licensed midwives and bring a broad range of skills and knowledge to assist in meeting you and your family's needs. In the ante/postnatal ward, some midwives are also internationally certified lactation consultants and/or have child health qualifications. Our Special Care Nursery is staffed by a midwife with neonatal intensive care qualifications.
