Make a bequestA bequest in your Will, can leave a tangible legacy for future generations which will enable The Wesely Hospital to continue to meet the physical, spiritual and emotional needs of our patients.
Although many of us don't like to think about it, we should all have a Will. In the absence of one, your affairs will be handled by a court-appointed administrator, who will have no idea how you wanted your estate to be handled. Click here for more information on The Wesley Bequest Society Making your Will Having a Will drawn up is a relatively simple procedure and should include the following steps:
1. First, seek expert advice - the safest way to make a will is to use a solicitor 2. List your assets 3. Decide who you wish to benefit from your estate 4. Make sure you are satisfied that the Will reflects your wishes 5. Keep your Will in a safe place 6. Review your Will regularly.
To support The Wesley Hospital in your Will If you wish to support The Wesley Hospital's work in the community by remembering it in your Will, may we make the following suggestion: The following generalised wording should be used: 'to THE UNITING CHURCH IN AUSTRALIA PROPERTY TRUST (Q) for the general purposes of THE WESLEY HOSPITAL, Auchenflower with the Queensland Synod of The Uniting Church in Australia, the receipt of the Secretary for the time being of the said Synod to be a sufficient discharge to my Trustees'. With thousands of people each year using the services of the Wesley, your bequest will go to help many people in many different ways.

Wesleylink September 2009 ROMACRotary Oceania Medical Aid for Children (ROMAC) and The Wesley Hospital have been in partnership for almost 15 years, helping an average of four children each year. The service transports children from developing countries to Australia for medical treatment to overcome life threatening conditions or dignity restoring procedures that are not available or can not be performed in their own country. Visiting doctors with the patients also have the opportunity to undertake further training and study under leading surgeons at The Wesley Hospital.

The Wesley Hospital has a large collection of artworks displayed throughout the corridors, wards and private rooms for the benefit of patients, visitors and staff.
The works making up the collection have been donated to the hospital by artists and hospital supporters. In addition other works are loaned by artists, private galleries, public institutions and schools. In addition The Wesley Hospital maintains an active art program and firmly believes that art expresses the richness and diversity of human life, and the joy of the creative spirit within each of us and as such is an important part of a balanced community and a healthy life.
The Wesley's Art Curator, Maureen Hansen, manages The Wesley Art Collection and the activities of The Wesley Art Program, which include artists' commissions and promotional events.
